Q: If a rider forgets to release the coiled wire when dismounting the horse, will the airbag activate?

A: Quite a strong pulling force is required to activate the airbag.
When dismounting, the rider may feel a strong tug and realizes that he/she has forgotten to disconnect the one-touch release.
However, be careful not to dismount a horse forcibly to avoid unnecessary activation.
Always disconnect the one-touch connector before dismounting a horse

A force of up to 30 kg. (66 lbs.) is required to detach the key and to activate the airbag. The dismounting rider will feel a strong tug well before deployment.

Q: What is the difference between type A and type B?
A: Type A (EU model) has the neck cushion neatly packed inside a stand-up collar. Type B (JP, UK and MM model) has the cushion exposed around the neck and upper back.

Q: If an airbag is activated and inflated, can it be reused?

A: Yes, it can be reused over and over again provided it has not been damaged. Simply replace the gas cartridge using the handy tool attached to the jacket.

Q: If an inflated airbag is damaged by friction with the road surface in an accident, will it still be effective?
A: Yes, in fact the job of the airbag will already have been done - that is it will have dissipated the shock well before it is torn or damaged.
Q: When an Hit-Air vest is not in use could the free end of the coiled wire mar the finish of the motorcycle?
A: No, simply keep it under the seat or use a connector holder (sold separately).
Q: Are Hit-Air vests and jackets waterproof?
A: Yes. The EU model is 100% waterproof. Other models are made of water-repellent fabric.
Q: How long will gas cartridge last?
A: Indefinitely, but it should be replaced if the surface shows any signs of deterioration or rust. (Of course, activated cartridges must be replaced.)
Q: Can I wash my jacket?
A: Yes, simply remove the airbag system, linings and protectors and wash according to the washing instructions. No need to dry clean. In fact excess heat from the dry cleaning process may cause damage.
Q: Can I wear a light backpack or something similar overtop an Hit-Air jacket or vest?
A: Yes, just be careful that the straps do not press against the airbag interfering with its ability to inflate freely.
